The other day I came across a website which allowed you to honor a World War II vet on the “WWII Memorial’s Registry of Remembrances“. I searched the memorial and found a half dozen Schoenlys and a single Schanely listed. I happen to know from various records I’ve come across over the years that many more than this actually served the country during WWII.
If you know a family member (or any other) that served during that war, why not go out there and have them listed? It’s very easy. Some have called that generation “‘the greatest generation” and so they may be. Sadly, they are almost all gone. Let do something for them now before it’s too late.
